A brief word about me…
I emigrated to New Zealand 32 years ago establishing myself on the North Shore with my family and pursuing a career in retail accounting as a Chartered Accountant. My two daughters were educated in Devonport schools and, following a university education, spent valuable time in London before returning to settle down in Auckland.
A keen sportsman, following my rugby retirement I transitioned to the squash court and took an active role first the Devonport and then the Shepherds Park squash club. For fitness I also took up running taking part in 13 half-marathons and latterly setting up a running club. During COVID I took on the role of North Shore Rugby Football club manager which I held for four years.
As one with limited dramatic ability, I keenly support the performing arts, notably ballet, and along the way this led to a key role within the Victoria Theatre as it emerged from a hiatus in the early 2000’s to emerge in the shape it is in today.
This broad base of experience I think would equip me with the commercial acumen, local commercial awareness and governance experience to effectively occupy a role within the Devonport Takapuna Local Board.
