Resolution of how to apply local board funds is critical and the Devonport area in particular has a good number of high maintenance heritage buildings. Significant cuts to local board funding threaten the board’s capacity to both fund these buildings, continue to support community organisations & events as well as invest in worthwhile projects such as pedestrian and cycle paths such as the Francis St connection to Esmonde Road.
I do bring some level of understanding to these rival priorities together with some financial skills to sift through what is feasible to fund. It’s not possible to achieve a full sense of priorities from outside the board but I look forward to working with the team to deliver the best outcome for the local community.
